  Horrible. They made a mistake in a death certificate, and it's been 3 months. Now they have to go to court to change that mistake. Incompetent, to say the least.

  My Mother passed away from Cancer! My family stayed at her bedside in Hospice. The Funeral home director Denise Davis came personally to us and helped us to make the arrangements. She explained all of the options. When my mom passed Riverside offered us the ability to visit our mother before her service. Riverside keep us informed with all of the arrangements that were being organized. After the service concluded Denise called us to see how we were doing. That personalized service made the worst day of my life a little easier just knowing that we were not alone.

  It's sad...what many years ago was seen and handled with the utmost sensitivity and care, today is an incompetent, get the money and then some, completely disorganized and callous corporation. Perhaps certain very personal services simply cannot be handled by large corporations? Perhaps it's just a reflection of a lack of education in our society? Perhaps I have become old-fashioned?
  
  It is all the above, and probably more. But the bottom line is this, from start to finish I was met with incompetence, shady conduct, bait-and-switch....you name it, it could not have been worse. And to top it off, the deceased had once worked for this company upon his retirement so that he could give back to the Jewish community. He would have been horrified at the way things were handled.
  
  But as one of the employees commented to me, they are profitable, when everyone else "in the business" is not. I guess that's because they take your money, and you may not know (unless you understand what SHOULD be done) that the "services" performed were sub-standard. And also, who complains? As the saying goes, "Dead men don't talk." Shame on you SCI!
